Department of Electronics, Systems and Informatics
The research, development, and innovation of electronic and information systems with a systemic and interdisciplinary approach, in order to contribute to the strengthening and transformation of the economic and social processes of Jalisco and the region in this field, with the goal of building a more fair and humane society.
The purpose of the Basic Academic Units (BAUs) is to coordinate, carry out, follow through and evaluate every specific teaching, research, and collaboration activity in a particular field of knowledge within the department's overall object of study. Each BAU is made up of a team of professors from the department faculty, and is coordinated by one of them. The DESI has four BAUs.
Computer Science
This field of knowledge comprises the theory and practice of the development of algorithms and high-performance software applications.
Electronics
This BAU focuses on the design of electronic circuits and devices, both analog and digital, CAD methods for electronic design, communications, and embedded systems.
Information Technology Management
Research into the techniques, models, and processes of technology, knowledge and innovation management, as applied to services, informatics and electronics.
Information Systems
Managing a company's projects and supporting its business processes. Identifying and providing accurate, useful and ethical information management, including suitable and feasible automation processes at the operational, managerial and strategic levels.
